I got the whole take it slow for the first 1000 miles or so, obviously im not gunna beat the shit out of it, but my buddy says its good to kinda "get on it" when its new.. but the dealer and the manual says to not go to high RPMs at first, and try not to go like over 90 etc.. What do you guys say??

run it easy at first, then gradually start to give it more revs. I wouldn't hit WOT in it until 1200-1500 miles though, its heavy load (throttle) that you want to avoid more than revs in breaking in a new engine. . .

Step 1- Rev egine to 5000 rpm
Step 2- Release clutch.

What would you guys consider "abusive" for a new 3?

Is there any speed I shouldn't exceed? When my dad got his Suburban he said that he didn't drive past 55MPH for the first 500 miles (as the manual stated, IIRC).

Should I do the same with my new 3>

Tom, did your speed come with RSA's? I thought they came with summer tires--or maybe they equip them differently up here in the land of ice and snow.

I was referring to his car. I have whatever it is all the Speed3's come with, that drives about as well on snow/ice as the RS-A's do.
