The brake light serves two purposes. To let you know the parking brake is on, and the most important let you know that there's either a problem with the brakes or the fluid is low. Most likely the fluid is a little low, so top it off and the light will go away.
Modern car brake fluid sensors are quite sensitive to low fluid levels.
