At first thought, I was set on the moonroof and Bose audio system. The Bose didn't sound that great, and I can't get the moonroof by itself. Since I plan to upgrade the stock components and is it worth it to get the Bose system just to have the moonroof?

$1300 for 6 speakers and a moonroof? I mean come on...

Are aftermarket tweeters easy to install without the stock tweeter locations? And how would that be done?

Are you set on getting a Grand Touring? If you can live with an S Touring, the 6CD/Moonroof package is non-Bose, and thus much easier to swap out.

Either way, the Bose speakers themselves are easy to replace (they come out just like the non-Bose ones), but it's the HU and Bose amp/sub underneath the front passenger seat that causes everyone headaches. Whether you're willing to spend $1300 on a sunroof is a decision only you can make, though.

I have the Bose system and on some music it's great and on other music it sucks ass. If there is any kind of deep bass in a song the system sucks big time. I honestly expected more from Bose. Oh well, what can you do. Some day I'll throw a sub in the trunk and then I think the system will be perfect.

ya, it was tough decision, but i opted for the s touring w/leather and moonroof. Saved me about $1000 and the other nick knacks from the gt i didn't miss except for the HIDs, but i can install those later if i want. The stock system in the s touring is enough for me, and i'll switch some stuff out in a year or two. Shit, even $500 can get a bangin sytem in that car.

^^Yeah, everything I've seen about the Bose has been from "Meh" to "Sucks" - really comes down to how bad you want the roof. The HIDs are the real kicker for me at least, they would be really nice to have IMO. If you don't want to do the install yourself later then it might be worth it.

Resale on the GT may be a bit higher...also something to consider.
