Hey, I thought I would offer some input on the TurboXS hybrid valve.

Its a hefty unit, and comes with the extra vacuum hose, the fitting to connect stock and extra, and extra washers to pack in the piston if need be.

Install is a breeze and honestly, no additional washers were needed. I put one in, just to see what differences it would make and the engine started to make a rattle I couldnt find where it was originating from. So I pulled the washer back out and it was fine. One thing you should take notice of, and I was worried about since I havent heard anyone say it; the gurlge in the exhaust, the odd harmless popping, will be more noticeable at idle, but thats the only time.

Other than that, it sounds AMAZING. The the VTA doesnt become noticeable until about 4000RPM and a hefty bit of throttle. For the most part it seriously runs majority recirc. If anyone has any other questions about, you are more than welcome to PM or email me. This part was a great investment in my eyes.

i sometimes hear that turboxs is a cheap brand. but it prolly dosent matter too much with the bov.

TurboXS has, in the past, gotten a bad rep for the quality of their exhaust parts fitment. Some WRX owners pretty consistently reported leaks with their uppipe. It also didn't help that their BOVs caused idling issues and rich conditions. Well it got a little out of hand because all Blow Off Valves will cause this problem. Unless they are recirculating or a well-made hybrid.

I personally have had no experience with their products. But from one consumer to another, don't just avoid brands due to reputation. Look closely at design, materials used, components involved, it's operation and read peer reviews. Sometimes, things are simply over-fluffed with hype and hearsay.

+1

1001 people will buy something the 1000 that liked it will say nothing. The 1 person who didnt will tell everyone and make it worse than it sounds.

Picked up a Turbosmart Dual port off a local member tonight, found out that I can't install it with the stock air box :(

Debating if I should sell it and get a COBB SRI, then upgrade to forge BPV later. Short of budget to do both at the moment!

Just wanted to post and let everyone know a new valve is now available from Forge Motorsports:
http://www.forgemotorsport.com/content.asp?inc=product&cat=100101&product=FMDVMAZ3S
The new valve is a different design and has no ping sound.

Forge apparently will continue to produce the old ping valve for those that like the sound.

Well, just did that and my SRI arrived from SU today. Can't wait to get off work and install them!

Anyone have any experience with the hsk Black Limited ed on an '08 speed3 with cp-e down pipe and nano intake? If not is this bov considered to be any good?

To answer myself I learned while installing that the paint is very cheap and you will need to touch it up. I even taped it off while working but still cheap paint. I am running rece and it sounds really nice over stock. Maybe not like at but for performance I feel it was best to go rec until the standback and then maybe a change. Beware this unti is harder than most to install because of the snap ring. It is not a bolt on and you do have to take it apart to reclock the hose algt. Happy speeding

When i was researching my MS3 before purchase, I came across a video that compared the WHP levels of a stock Speed 3 versus one with the Synapse Synchronic BOV. They claimed the stock BPV leaks from the factory and a simple upgrade to the Synapse BOV netted a significant WHP increase. Is this true?? Or just a marketing ploy??
