Got a question for anyone with cold weather experience on the Mazda 3....

I think I need to install a block heater - I'm in North Bay and I don't think this mild winter will last much longer, and I don't want to worry about bad starts in -30 weather.

So.......my Mazda 3 Sport GS didn't come with one, but I want to install a block heater. Anyone done an aftermarket install or gone back to the dealer to put one in? Prices??

Is it worth it?

Anyone from North Bay/Sudbury/Ottawa area - whaddya think?

Thanks,

Ive got an 05 mazda3 and I payed 260 for parts and labor, but I got it done on a military instillation so labor will probably be more expensive for you. If you wanna do it yourself the parts arent that expensive.

engine block heater: around 50
transmission heater: 10
battery pad and oil pan: 40

but its recommended at -10 you plug in your car so if the weather where your at is gonna reach -30 getting a block heater would be a neccesity.
