Wasn’t sure where else to post this but I have a question for you all.

Is the plastic piece (trim) that is under the front bumper of the Sedan originally black or painted? I’m asking because mine is painted and it’s chipping pretty bad. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be painted or not. I had body work done a while back and I think the body shop painted it. Now I’m wanting to either get some acetone or paint thinner and remove the paint or wet sand it off because it looks like hell.

Hopefully my description of the piece makes sense!

Thanks. (I'll take pics if needed.)

definitely supposed to be black, at least on the 04-06 models.

a few have painted them around here. another trick is using discarded door mouldings. looks clean if done right, eg: oricle's hatch.

you'd think a body shop could do it properly though.

Yeah, it's pretty annoying to find out that it was originally black. I noticed how bad it was chipping one day and was thinking to myself that I must have hit a cement parking curb pretty hard or something....damn body shops!

Thanks for the help though. To get it off what should I do? Wet sand or use some sort of thinner?
