I have the BASELINE mazda 3 2.0L...I just got in my progress drop kit and I am wondering which wheels i should get.

Stock 17"s
or RX-8 Stock 18"

Maybe paint the rims??? I dont know. I am definately not painting the car, ever, and I dont have any decals or anything. I want to have that luxury racer/ awesome looking car look.

get rx-8 rims... i'll show you pics of black rims on my rally white hatch. I get them installed saturday morning.

Im gonna keep them just in case something happens... besides two of them are bent because when i got new tires for them, I guess they dropped them didnt really notice until a friend pointed them out and they are all scratched up. Not really worth buying.

+1, I've always loved white rims.

But I would go with the RX-8 wheels.

Get the RX8 rims. Both are a dull option in my opinion but if I had to get one or the other Id get the RX-8 wheels.

If i could get something else that looked good on the car that came with some tires for $500 shipped, thaT would be fine, but only people with rx8 or stock 17s sell with tires for $500 shipped.

After market rims + tires for 500$ shipped = crappy quality wheels + tires

The OEMs are pretty sturdy, so your best bet is to get those for a 500$ budget.
If they sell with tires, take em', and BURN em'

white is the hardest call because all of the wheels look good !!

polish = nice
green = nice
blue = nice
gold = nice
bronze = nice
black = nice
black / chrome lip = nice
silver = normal
etc ..

the stock 17" will look too much like a wanna be "s" model, just like someone putting speed3 wheels on a hatch.

i sold my 18's because houston sucks, and i always felt that not paying attention on one pothole could be the last pothole for the wheels. so im downsizing to have a little more protection. you might want to seriously consider this. maybe im just a baby, i dunno, but i think 17" with a good drop looks just as amazing.

i have a rally white too...

i personally think the matte bronze and metallic steel gray colour looks good.

black is cool, but kinda over done...

any of the older members remember the guy with the White Mazda3 Sedan S model with rx8 rims and a drop, and basically thats all he had but everyone thought it looks soooo clean and nice. It was one of the top favorited car on the forums cause he made it so clean.
