I love my Valentine1 unit. Easily one of the best investments ever. Awsome range and the arrows/bogey counter are by far a great invention...

VALENTINE ONE, period. It's saved me more times than i even remember and it picks up bogeys(up to 10 at once) from soooo far away. plus the arrows are a MUST. Definitely one of my best investments into my car

I have the same and havent gotten a ticket or pulled over for anything but false warrants on my car.

But I will say both me and my roommate have the same and we have found when it gets too hot say 95+ weather, it starts to freak and his has seemed to have broken because of the heat to the point it will throw constant false lasers during warm to hot days...just be warned heat and the passport not good mix.

I am looking at getting a new V1 also the directional bogey alert I think is a truely GREAT idea

any of you guys like cobras? how much is a valentine? probably a high end one yeah

cobra is OK. the V1 is $399 new or you could get one used of ebay for around 300. If you're really trying to get a quality radar detector V1 is the way to go, it's more expensive than the rest but WELL WORTH IT. TRUST US(who have it)

Even though I don't own one...yet, Valentine One. I have an Escort Solo S2 and after having it for about a year and 6 months I have never gotten a ticket with it on. It has saved me from getting one about 5 times where I was really pushing it on the highway. It went off and gave me plenty of time to slow down and miss the ticket. My advice is if your going to invest in an S2, save the extra bit more and get a Valentine.

Cobras make poor radar detectors that false a lot and often dont go off when they should. They generally sell better than other detectors because they've secured a good distribution and they put on all these useless features on their detectors (like a compass) that sell to people uneducated in radar detectors and they have great marketing lingo. Do yourself and everyone else a favor and stop buying cobra!

Any whistler detector for the win. Whistler makes great low end detectors.

Not to say that you are a liar or anything, but I just have a very hard time believing that. The technology in the V1 is proven to be better than the cobra repeatedly in every test. I'd be more inclined to believe that the officers were using pop radar and your cobra got lucky where as the V1s ruled it out as a false or did not have pop detection on (if they had a model that supports that). Had the radar source been an instant on x, k, or Ka or constant-on, the v1 would have alerted much faster and sooner because your friends were in front of you and the v1 has a much better detection range.

i dont know what his was set to but we had 2-way radios and would yell to each other whenever we picked up a cop...twice i picked up a cop and he didn't....one went driving down the opposite side of the hwy and the other i never saw but my detector lit up like a christmas tree.

im not knocking the valentine at all...i'd get one if i could afford it..just saying whatever my detector is(id go look but the car is at mazda) works pretty well.

if anything, i'd bet you have a whistler. But maybe cobras arent as bad as I was led to believe.
