I'm in the hunt for a good set of lug nuts, and, if possible, I want some lightweight, yet durable, and ones that come with a locking mechanism (similar to what we have). Anyone have any suggestions? I'm not picky on color (it'll just compliment my already-soon-to-be JDM rims ).
ok, ill be serious. i think buddy club lugs are pretty good, and depending on which JDM wheels you went with, the manufacturers usually make lugs to go with the wheels.
or, you could just work toward 2,000 hp and buy the titanium lug nuts. hell, youre about 8-10% there!
I noticed, too, that Buddy Club only sells them in a set of 4. So does that mean we have to buy 5 of them? (obvious question, I know, but wanted to confirm)
1.yes, you have to buy 5 sets of 4. some come with 5 lug nuts, in which case: 4 sets of 5
2. i dont think stock lugnuts will even work. most aftermarket manufacturers leave such small area around the actual lug that "tuner" lug nuts are required. tuner lugs are usually much thinner than stock lug nuts. i wish i had my old lugs to take a pic and show you a comparo, but i sold them.
Ah, I see. Well, do you know if the BuddyClub have a special key that you have to have to take 'em off? I'm mostly worried about security, if they get stolen I'll :wtc:
doubt it. i believe 2 things: 1. the chrome wheels down the street will be gone long before they touch yours, and 2. if they want the wheels, THEY WILL GET THEM, NO MATTER WHAT .

i was hoping you would catch on to the borat thing!
this site has a great selection of high-end tuner lugs. i dont think the buddy club ones are the way to go because they are extended, but youll have many different choices to consider on here:

well i have experience with closed and open ended. the wheels i just sold i used closed ended on, and i think that it looks better. and the wheels i have now have open ended. what the big defferences are, i have no idea, but from an opinionative standpoint, i would say the closed ended look better. and yes, muteki is a good brand, and they keep prices down.
Good deal, thanks man :goodjob:. I think I'll go with the black closed end (unless you think red or blue would look better, but IMO, black flows the best). I appriciate the help.

They are so close to the axe of rotation that it dosent even affect anything.
It dosent realy matter if you get them lockable or witch any other anti-theft, b/c every wheel snatcher out there has a gator key, drill, hammer and everything else to get the lug nuts off. I know it sucks....
Personnaly, I have Spoon lug nuts! haha take that Honda!
