I used to think that Velo Red was bright, until I saw it parked next to True Red. In actually think True Red is a bit orange, but I'm obv a little biased. . .

I noticed that too, when driving the Speed3 demo car before I got into the Black Mica one. Bit of an orange tinge. Was tempted to get it, because it was so god-awful bright (i'm insane like that) but then I went Batmobile instead. Plus they didn't have a GT in True Red.

she almost got an MX-5. I'm not too sure how it was even brought up.

the salesman was really nice (we've had experience with him before)-- took off at least 2k i think? I also finally got to see a Mazdaspeed 3 for the first time in person in their 2nd inventory lot-- seats felt really big (better than my old "slippery" 3's), but the engine bay looks amazing.... and that ram air ducting to the intercooler and battery. hmm-- mazda likes to cool their 3's batteries. I didn't get to test drive it though.

the model she got was really nice: leather, bose speakers, 6-CD, auto-climate, moonroof, xenon, the armrest on the back seat-- stuff I wish I'd had on my ol' 3.

Now to talk her into getting a baseline dyno

Irvine Mazda had a new 2006 MX-5 miata (touring) a couple days ago when I was there to test drive the MS3. It was on red tag special for $17,000. list price showed over $23k.

I would have gotten this miata had it been on sale for this price at the time I got my 3. oh well...
