people are so fucking cheap these days, even if they were on sale for 10% more than the knock-off's no one will buy them anyway.

Does this mean they'll start having sale on their remaining inventory? :)

I must be the cheap bastard of which everyone speaks. When I saw the title that's the first thing I thought.

and this is why I buy authentic parts. people bitch and moan when there isn't any aftermarket support, then they buy replicas of parts that companies spend time and money developing. pay to play, and don't bitch when the game ends because you cheated.

Shit after owning a set of nice wheels, I'll never own a set of cheap ones again. Forged wheels can take an absolute beating and still look perfect. I gave a curb a slight love tap with my forged GT500 wheels and didn't even get a scratch on them, even though I took a chunk of concrete out of the curb. Did the same thing in the speed with the rotas on it in almost the exact same spot and ended up taking a chunk out of one spoke.

That's because ~$200 off of $2000 is still a substantial chunk of money, not to mention most enthusiasts know that their cars are depreciating assets.

So yeah, I want high quality, authentic parts for my car, but that doesn't mean I'll dump half of my paycheck into it without thinking it through.

I think the #1 reason people spend money on mods today is to post up about them at the end of the day. So, they are more than willing to spend their checks on shit like this.

I don't care what you car forum people think... i just want my coilovers to last more than 10k miles before a rebuild and my wheels to not bend over every bump I take at 100. that's why I buy quality parts, but hey... I must be a rarity.

I can see both sides, but.....

Everyone that buys ebay special parts, etc. aren't rewarding innovation/quality, they're rewarding imitation. Same goes for wheels.

and fiberglass exterior parts. I can count on two hands the number of people that have authentic GarageVary/AutoExe/RE-Amemiya parts. Now think of the number of people with front lips, aftermarket side skirts, or spoiler lips. Now we know why designers dont get paid jack shit.

if $200 is a very significant sum of money for someone, than atleast at that moment in that time they should not be spending ANY money on aftermarket parts.

what is offensive to see is people driving very nice 25~60K vehicles with cheap aftermarket parts on them....those are the people I would refer to as cheap.

Read what I wrote, $200 off of $2000 which is $1800 is STILL a substantial chunk of money.
