No I meant the guy trying for an electirc turbo charger. ;) when that cheap little plastic piece of crap grenades, and your engine sucks down the pieces, well congrats to you. ;)

What does the Bean think?

No it wouldn't work too well. If attched to anywhere on your intake tube, once you're past 40mph, the fan blades become a severe bottleneck. Best case scenario- you'd gain probably 1-2hp at the low end and lose a lot up top. Worst case scenario is you'll need a new engine cause the parts are after the filter. Once that comes apart, well, plastic shards and tiny metal pieces from the fan's motor doesn't compress too well :)

$250 is better spent on an intake, header, ss, or exhaust.

Thanks Bean, I appreciate the actual useful feedback. Not like I thought this was a great idea, I was just curious. There are a lot of smartasses on this forum aren't there?

When cars switch to 48v electrical systems the likeliness of one of these "electrical" supercharges actually doing something useful will increase, but I don't think its going to come in the form of basically a cheap outboard boat motor (thats exactly what many of these "kits" actually use!). Just think when you're not running it (since it takes so much power to run, you can't run them for that long - think short bursts) you've got this fan now in the intake doing nothing but getting in the way of incoming air instead of sucking - not exactly going to do much for you then either. Bean's right - spend $200 and get an intake instead with instant always on +5whp, better mileage, and no moving parts to break. :D

it's about equal to the number of dumbasses who ask if electric superchargers work.

One of the members of a local forum I'm on bought one just to try it out on his Sentra Spec-V (similiar to our 3), and he actually lost about 10hp on the dyno.

And yes, the blades will eventually break and be sucked into your engine, which will be fun.
