Been thinking of getting these tires. http://www.thefuzionzone.com/hri.asp

Winter produces snow in my area so I will not be going for the Z rated ZRi's, but this HRi tire is affordable and has decent treadwear. It's made by BRIDGESTONE also...

Anyone out there with any feedback on this tire? Yah or Nah?

Thanks.

Although I don't have them on my 3, I have driven on them before and they were quite impressive for a mid grade performance tire.

They are suppossed to be very good. They are made by bridgestone, and are similar to the G009, but not as quiet. Not quite up to par with the G009, but better than most everything in its range. I had a set of Hankooks, and was surprisingly impressed with them. The set I had were Z rated and were very comparible to my Michelins that I had on before. Mine were 235/50/17. Had them on my Vic.

Still deciding between the Kumho ASX's (which I know are pretty good already) and the Fuzion HRi's... I'd like to hear a few more testimonials specifically about the HRi's too because I'm leaning that way a bit more now... I'll be going with 215/50/17 on stock rims... :)

Thx.

that is exactly my position ... I was deciding between 215/45 and 215/50 but they do not recommend the 215/45 on the stock 6.5" rim .. so 215/50 it is ..

if I get spooked, I will go with the Kuhmos ... I actually like the tread pattern of the Kuhmos more, but I really do not need the Z rating .. I just want good long lasting tire .. oh and I am basically broke.

@ this price level, even with the varied opinions on treadwear, you can afford to buy these things 2x over the bigger manufacturer's tires & still keep up IMO.

Has anyone actually used the HRis on the Mazda 3 ???

I can tell you that I am very dissappointed with them on my other vehicle (2003 GrandAm GT, 225/50-16). I am pretty sure that the car would handle better on Marshmellows. I mean, this car wanders and leans all over the place at all speeds - it now feels like a '76 Mercury station wagon. I don't know if the Zs would be any better but I have tried all ranges and combinations of tire inflations and front end alignment and it is awful. I think they are way too soft. This car is absolutely no fun to drive anymore.

The GA came with RSAs just like my M3 5-door. All I read is bashing on them but for me they were decent tires here in FL. Both cars rode pretty well - nice, tight, and controlled on dry, and not bad at all on wet. I pushed them pretty hard (no autocross but I drive fast). They just wore out too quickly (25K mi on both cars). I replaced them with Falken Ze-512s (H-rated, highly reviewed) that I got from Edge Racing. The car handled well on the Falkens but a couple of them turned out to be defective - I had to replace them in just over a year and about 10K miles.

I had read a lot of reviews on the Fuzions and everyone seemed to like them (maybe they are talking about the Zs not the Hs). They are absolutely horrible on the GA - I would not even consider putting them on the 3. I need tires now on my 3 but I am really gun-shy of buying tires based upon "good reviews" and my personal experience. I am thinking of going with the Kumho SPTs for the 3 (also very highly rated) but I do not want to give up anything in performance and handling. However, I may just bite the bullet and go with the Michelins. In most cases I have found that you really do get what you pay for...

I actually looked at those today. They have them at Costco for $146 ea + tax. The KDWs looked good. The other tires that they had there were the BFG Sport for $121 ea + tax. Still looking though.
