Well start calling local places then, wherever you go, gonna cost you anyway. Try some Mom and Pop shops or call any quick lube stations.

FYI, it's Mercon V, not Macron V. Like TEK said, call around, as most, if not all qualified shops can do a tranny flush.

Our manual states that the auto trans fluid is ATF M-V. Is this the same as Mercon V?

I thought I read somewhere that the two are actually different.

I have seen a couple of brands of ATF labelled "MV" or "Multi Vehicle". Perhaps this is what Mazda is referring to?

There's a thread somewhere on here that debates the difference of M-V versus Mercon V. There's at least one ATF that officially fulfills the Mazda M-V standard, and that is Castrol's Import Multi-Vehicle ATF:

Whether or not this is better than Mercon V, I don't know. There don't seem to be any reports of Mercon V burning up Mazda trannies, and this Castrol fluid fulfills the Mercon V specifications.
