funny that you're thinking about doing this ... i'm thinking the same. i'm pretty settled on a final design but it's way too f'n cold to be working with fiberglass right now, so i'm waiting. i'll post pics whenever it is i finish it.
oh, and i think i'll probably just ship those emblems to you and not worry about the costs. i don't have a paypal and don't feel like setting one up for something like this.

whats your thoughts on design? me personally, we have a 2.0 3i sedan, so it has that weird grille.

i am cutting out all the weird plastic mesh on the factory grille, but keeping the emblem, and am going to put a stainless steel mesh behind it. not sure if i am going to make it deeper or not using fiberglass.. kinda similar to this but with the emblem.. keepin it different ya know? best part... FACTORY FIT, NO GAPS!

btw man thank you, thats mighty cool of you

i was thinkin of doing this, im just not sure what mesh you would use behind it. and i would probably paint my mesh black too. how would you attach the mesh to the back of the grill? fiberglass? or could it just be like screwed in? haha

i am doing the grip tuning's new mesh they have... hey gotta keep the brand love. my 300c is rocking their body kit and as a matter of fact is on their website. once you have the general shape of the grill and have it shaped to the contours you can attach it to the shell via epoxy

here is the mesh i am looking at using for my 300c and the mazda3

If memory serves me correct a guy with a speed6 on this board made one. He cut the mazda emblem out and shaped a piece to go across in its place. To this day its the nicest grill I have seen. Unfortunately I have no idea where it would be

Well I am a perfectionist .. I had it very close but it fell off my workshop desk and the fiberglass has a slight crack in it so I have kind of put the project on hold till I can figure out if I need to re do it or just try to deal with it as is. I am also unsure if it is going to be structurally strong enough to deal with highway speeds.
