Just wondering if I'm the only one willing to cheap out and go for a tan interior...

although I was thinking of just going for a GS trim and ask for a GX price (that should be do-able, eh?)...

ah well :) Anyone else here for a GX trim? or am I the only one?
hmm... if I am... demand down... thus price down... YAY! hehehe ;)

The GX is fine for a rental, but not something I'd be happy with on a daily basis - I want ABS and a sunroof and all those cool GS/GT gadgets.

The GX and GS look the same outside except for the wheels and door handles (15" steel wheels and black door handles on GX vs 15" alloy wheels and body-coloured door handles on GS). On the outside, the base GT (no GFX package) looks the same as the GS except that the GT has fog lights. All three models (GX, GS and base GT) have the regular mesh front rather than the sport grille, and all three models have normal bumpers instead of sporty bumpers. In Canada you only get the sporty bumpers on the sedan if you get a GT and add the GFX package.

jl0109,

the first picture you posted is the European sedan. The front grill (black with the top body-colored) is not available in N/A (either all black, or cheese-grater type on GT with GFX). European and N/A bumpers are different. Bellow are N/A spec Mazda3 (US i-trim and Canada GT/GFX)

Hi jl0109,

Here's a photo of a Canadian GX from the side (Edit: ignore the wheels since the covers are missing -- thanks lmp180psu; notice the black door handles):
http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dinuone/detail?.dir=/Mazda3+Sedan&.dnm=TitaniumGXSide.jpg

Here's a photo of a Canadian GS (notice the body-coloured door handles and lack of fog lights):
http://frankosoft.dynip.com:85/m3q/pics/Amateur/9.jpg

Here's a photo of a Canadian GT without the GFX package (notice the fog lights):
http://frankosoft.dynip.com:85/m3q/pics/Reel/4.jpg

The titanium sedan from Bruno's post (and the second red one you posted) are examples of the Canadian GT with the GFX package (notice the sporty bumpers, sporty fog lights, sport grille and side sills/skirts). Here's another photo: http://frankosoft.dynip.com:85/m3q/pics/Reel/3.jpg

The GX and GS look like the following from the front:
http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dinuone/detail?.dir=/Mazda3+Sedan&.dnm=BeigeGSFront.jpg

The GT looks like the following from the front:
http://frankosoft.dynip.com:85/upload/Uploaded/2003-12-07_Neige.JPG

The GT with GFX package is the one you posted (second red one) and the Titanium one that Bruno posted.

hmm..about GFX package..wut exactly is it?
the only difference between a GT with GFX and without GFX is the exterior?

You're welcome. You're right -- the ground effects (GFX) package is primarily an appearance package but also adds a moonroof and lower profile tires+larger rims. Leather seats are also only available on GFX package-equipped cars in Canada.

According to Preston from mazdamp3.com
Canadian-spec GX & GT trims have either an all-black interior or a beige interior (your links are the beige interior). Whether you get the all-black or beige depends on the exterior colour choice.
according to zc1 on the same board:
On the GX and GS you get the black interior with all of the exterior colours except Sand Mica, Velocity Red Metallic and Arctic White (those three come with the beige interior).
SWEET! I can skip the beige!! :)
And I STILL get 4 disk brakes!!

also, sorry for the cross-forum quotes... is that allowed?

CA as in California? I assumed it was for Canada since you were asking about the diffs between GX, GS and GT. These are Canadian designations. In the USA you have I, S and S with sports package (if I understand correctly), not GX, GS and GT. Sorry about that, but now you know all about how it works up here  For American specs you can check out Bruno's "American Trims and Prices" page: http://groups.msn.com/BrunoLuong/ustrimsandprices.msnw

ah..hmm....i asked this question in another thread in another part of the forums but this is what I was looking for...is it possible to get the sport (1SP) package but with the front bumper that comes on the "i"? I don't like how the "s" bumper looks with the cheesegrater grill and the line across the hole for the fog lights...
