Any new options for an AUX input on an 06' Mazda 3?

I've been away from this board for a few months now, and I was wondering if there were any new options for aux inputs for older Mazda 3's?

Of course the perfect solution would be a dealer installed Mazda option, so I called my local dealership and asked about this. The parts guy told me about this "official" Ipod package that they now sell. He told me it costs $149 + 195 in labor to install it. He said it works through the bottom of the Ipod, and charges while you listen.

So, apparantly this is possible, but does anyone know anything about it? In all honesty, I would just prefer a simple AUX input through my Bose stereo the car came with, but he didn't offer that.

I'm a total newb at thist stuff, so if there is a truly simple way to just get an AUX input to work with my factory unit, i'd really love to hear about it here. Thanks!

This is a very popular topic; please search before posting in the future.

Here's a good thread with some info:

The simple answer to your question is to buy an AuxMod Basic from Sylfex (www.sylfex.com).
Thanks Dr. Webster! :goodjob:
