[Troublesome]

Went ahead and pulled the trigger on a silver MS3 GT this past saturday. I had tried to find one in my local area in North Cali, but all the dealers were asking 1-5K over MSRP, and even then they didn't always have one in stock. I figured that my chances of finding a good deal on the Speed3 was out, so I considered several other cars, but didn't like them as much for one reason or another. Finally decided to do a last ditch effort and email most of the Mazdaspeed dealers in the SF Bay area after seeing a post from another member on here. Found a good dealer that had one in stock and was willing to deal. I've put about 350 miles on it so far (200 of those was the drive home after buying it), and I love it. Still doing the engine break-in right now, but I can't wait to see what it will do when I can open it up some. I don't normally drive like that, but it's fun to have a car you can get down on every now and then.

congrats, im down in san jose and just turned 400 miles on my GT. what'd they sell it to you for, just curious. i picked mine up for $23850 .

I was able to get mine for $23699 plus Uncle Sam's (and/or the Govenator's) cut. Not too bad, so I jumped on it. Had a slightly better deal from a dealership in San Jose, but they didn't have the car I wanted in stock; they all had navi or were Sport models....would have had to have waited 2 or 3 weeks, and had no guaruntee on color. (I wanted Cosmic Blue or Sunlight Silver).

I actually live in the Sacramento area, I drove down to the Bay to pick up the car since none of the dealerships here had a Speed3 in stock and weren't willing to negotiate their markups when they had one. I look forward to lurking and attempting to contribute when I can...

I appreciate everyone's welcome on here. It's nice to get to talk to other enthusiasts(sp?) that share the same interests as you. I have yet to see another Speed3 (except one or two at the dealerships) in my area. There are a couple of Speed6 and non-Speed 3s running around, but I haven't gotten to really talk to them much.

The only thing That hurts my eyes is the front plate. Yes they are supposed to be therebut I haven't had a front plate on any of my cars in 8 or 9 years.

I always seem to end up moving to states that require the front plate. I hate it, but it's required. Trust me, I'm not happy with the neon yellow free dealer advertisement, but it's only until my CA tags show up. And they didn't stick one of their dealer stickers to the trunk (I forgot to tell them not to when they were prepping the car), so I can live with the dealer tag for a short time.
