My attempt at HDR (although it's not even close to the technique used for HDR - I did use 2 pics tho):

photoshop... but the tutorials i've found to make HDRs... don't work, i don't know why... what I did in that pic was take my overexposed pic and my underexposed pic. put the overexposed layer on top of the underexposed, and just used the erase brush to get it to look like you can see the background yet still see the inside the garage which is pretty dark to begin with.. maybe i picked the wrong place to do it, but i have other pics on top of the garage with more light and tried it with that and still didnt work.. i wonder what im doing wrong..

Looks good but I think the blue star effect looking thing kinda ruins the whole pic. I need to read up on these tutorials..

Okay this one I did with the trial version of Photomatix... (Hence the watermark ) I must be doing something wrong...
I converted the two images to HDR.. and it came out dark so i went to tone mapping and it like decreased the quality of the picture. A LOT.

Yea, I have like 5 different exposures of of that same angle.. I used 2 of them for that picture. I'm going to try it now with all 5.

whats the difference? i have a crappy camera.. so im adjusting the 5" to like 1/2000"

im sure you know this already.. but it's really not the camera thats expensive, the lenses can get a bit pricey.
