to get back on topic,

scanners are nice, i have one in my car, especially if your in a bad part of town your car robbed happens, but having this does stop thieves from going to your car so they say, why would you try to rob a car when you can clearly see the lights on showing that there is some type of alarm. And my particular one only draws 15 mili-amps so basically you could leave it on and not use your car for over a week and your battery wouldn't die.

THis is a good point, I was thinking about this last night actually-- I wanted to get tinted windows so that theives can't see inside the car easily.. as well as an aftermarket alarm -- ( i modded the imobilzer light that is on the gauges so it blinks blue now instead of red and it's a lot brighter and get's attention but that's not an alarm-- I was thinking about going crazy and creating a 2 1/2 foot LED cricuit that is the entire length of the dash and then drilling about 100 holes all the way across the dash and installing the strip right underneath the trim-- and then cover the holes with a polarizer to protect the circuit's and wiring that into an aftermarket alarm when i eventually get an alarm -- and probably programing the circuit to start on the left side like this 0 ---------- --------- 0 and scrool to the center like

-0------- -----0- ---0--------- ------0---

But do it really really fast and go back and froth .. I MEAN THAT WOULD GET YOUR F)(*#@)(* attention and would be way overboard but IT WOULD BE SO unique, people would probably want to steal the car just to see wtf it is HAHA .. but man .. that would def let you know THIS CAR has an alarm .. yeah ? : )
