Haha, he's full of shit. The fact that they are compact, even more reason to have ABS and Side Airbags. With all the SUVs and trucks out there, you better have everything available in your arsenal ready to save your life.ucdchan said:According to the car sales man, "These are compact, they don't need ABS."
In case you don't know, ABS stands for Anti-lock Braking System, which mean the brake system also including the tires won't be locked when heavy braking. For safty point, it is a good idea cause you can maintain steering. When you have to brake hard especially on snow or ice, you won't lock up your front tires and can be steered to a safer place.kurbyrae said:How important is ABS?
ABS is optional on both the S and the I, though i'd prefer ABS. you still get pretty good braking with the 4wheel disc brakes, but in emergency situations ABS will help a lot. TCS would've been nice too, but if you want that you'd have to go up to the mazda6. i believe the ABS is available as a stand alone option in the US. if you want Xenon HIDs you'll have to get Sport package + ABS.lazerasa said:i though ABS was a standard part of the "S" trim level. If you talking about an "i", I don't know about those options.
Nooo! Even though they already had it on order from Japan, it had not been built yet, and they said it would be no problem for them to contact Japan and they would add to the list of options to be installed on the car. Yeah you misunderstood, gosh would that suck if they had to add the Xenon/TPMS on at the dealer, I wouldn't feel comfortable with that type of operation. Anyway, its cool they could call Japan and add it to the car before it was built.SBTanMan said:Wait, they said they could add the HID/TPMS after the car reached the dealership? I sincerely hope I misunderstood, because otherwise your dealership sucks, and is truly misleading you.
