I understand 5w20 is reccommended. Is that what most of you are using. I've read it is just to me stringent fuel efficiency requirements for the EPA, but doesn't really benefit us, just the car manufacturers who must meet certain requirements.
My question - is there a benefit in using synthetic or a blend? I used synthetic in my P5, and it was nice and clean. But I've never used a 5w before..... I don't know if it would make a difference. Also the Synth let me go 5000 miles without worry, I'd of worried about going over 3500 with regular, even if the manual says otherwise.
Dino oil will work fine with regular drain intervals based on normal/severe service schedules. I change my oil at around 5000 miles. I would feel very comfortable with changing oil every 7500 miles if I used synthetic. I don't think blends are a good idea since its benefits are very questionable.
