Will a 215/45/18 rub with out a drop? Will they look that bad cause their a little bit bigger? Have no other choice on tires sooooo.

depends on the width of the rim and offset

if you its a 18x7 I think it will be fine, 7.5 maybe, 8 I think will rub

Offset should be at least 50mm, I would guess anything less will rub

That's what comes stock on the Speed3, so they should work just fine.

Im not really sure about that, I have heard that some people run the stock RX-8 wheels & tires with no rub and they are 225/45/18.

No you should not have any rubbing with the size of tire. I am riding on a set of 18x7.5 225 45ZR18 and i dont have any rubbing problems. Its also dropped with Tein Basic Coilovers. So you should be alright with the 215/45/18.

so can folks run the stock RX-8 wheels & tires? I've seen various posts & opinions, but no real consensus. I do believe that the 225/45 ratio can throw off your speedometer and all, but does the setup rub?

I have seen a few mazda 3's with the RX-8 wheel package and havent heard much on rubbing in the wheelwells unless you got a nice mad drop on your ride. With out a drop you will be fine, but will have a ugly gap. If your looking at tire sizes, 225/45/R18 is not a bad set up. you will not rub. trust me i have 225/45/ZR18 on my mazda 3 HB and its dropped. Lower then i want, but i have no rubbing.

It may not be anything but it seems like the 225/45's is like $10 more per tire than the 225/40's, on say the kumho's.
