First i want to say Hello as I am a new member on this forum...

I tried searching through posts for the last 2 hours and can't seem to find anyone with a similar issue...

I'll try to be as detailed as possible...

The car is a 2014 Mazda 3 2.0l manual transmission.

The problem I am having is constant but appears at random times but all within 2 hours. The only thing that happened leading up to this problem is the battery died several weeks ago, boosted the car, drove around for approx. 45 mins. Drove the car everyday for 4 days and later got stuck in snow from the plow blocking the car in, wheels spun a bit and was able to drive away...next day while driving the car the traction control and check engine light came on at the same time and I could not accelerate (no throttle response). Turned the car off, then back on...both lights remained on but I was able to accelerate...drove the car for maybe 2 mins and then no throttle...

Scanned the car and got several codes:
  1. P0102 MAF Low Input
  2. P0453 EVAP High Input
  3. P061B ECM Torque Calculation
  4. P2110 Throttle Actuator Control - Forced limited RPM
  5. P2122 Throttle Position or Accelerator Pedal Position sensor Switch D - Low Input
Tried to clear the codes and couldn't...I disconnected the battery and drained the residual power....Scanned the car again, same codes but this time I was able to clear them. Drove the car around for about 30 mins, parked for 10, drove again for 30 mins, parked again then drove for about 10 mins and then the Traction Control Light came on and maybe 30 seconds after the CEL came on and I lost Acceleration, no throttle response. Turned car off then back on right away and was able to drive for approx 2 mins...did that several times to get me home...

Scanned car again with a better scanner (Autel) and got several codes in the PCM section and 2 codes in the ABS section.

PCM Controller
  1. P0102 MAF
  2. P0453 EVAP
  3. P061B ECM
  4. P151B Idle Speed Control - RPM lower than expected
  5. P2110 Throttle Actuator Control
  6. P2122 Throttle Position or Accelerator Pedal Position sensor Switch D - Low Input
ABS Controller
  1. U0401:00 Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM
  2. U0401:00-2B Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM
So far I have checked ALL visible connections for any wear and tear, I changed the MAF sensor with a brand new one, checked ALL fuses, put the battery on an intelligent charger for 24hrs.

I will just add that the car idles fine, and EVERY time I restart the car I am able to accelerate for a random amount of time before it cuts off the throttle.

Has anyone experienced this before? Any clue what it can be...I was thinking originally the Throttle body but why would I have throttle sometimes and then sometimes not...if it was the TPS shouldn't it either just work or not work?

Anyway I'm at a loss and I hope someone actually read though all of this and can help me out.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! Here is hoping that this helps.
I have the same except for 6spd automating transmission. A couple of weeks ago, I got lots of anomalous behavior, with no accel, etc. It turned out that my positive battery cable had a break on the inside (beneath the covering) and caused all sorts of low voltage weirdness. After changing the cables, I have had flawless performance since then. Worth a try, and it may be the least expensive fix ever!

Thanks for your response...unfortunately I checked and rechecked the battery connectors and cables...

A little update as of today....

I let the car sit with the battery disconnected overnight Monday...Tuesday morning went and used my air compressor and blew off all dust and debris from everywhere, even in the fuse box, cleaned the engine bay, rechecked all connectors to make sure everything was connected tight and I didn't miss any broken wires...started the car, turned the steering left and right several times lock to lock....let the car idle for 1 hr (I know its long but it was cold outside here and I wanted the fans to kick on)...cleared the codes and then went for a drive around the block 3 times...everything went fine...then went and basically beat the shot out of the car down some farm roads...
Drove around for about an hour and everything was good...parked the car for several hours then drove around for another hour...Started the car this morning, drove around and no problems....

I'll update again in a couple days if its still working or if the problems come back...

I am still at a loss of what and why this happened...weirdest thing ever.
