Damn, and I just bought a Ford GT40.

Now if only the viper guys learned to bring the beast out of their v10. 650hp na should be NO PROBLEM for that beast. Cheat and throw a blower on it and say byby vette once again

Well the new one is making 600hp already, are you saying it needs 50 more?

The viper should be making no less than 800. They need to tap into the dam thing and make it work. Chevy is maxing out block after block while the viper is still using the same one. Someone needs to get their act together.

if the viper should be making 800 than the old Z06 should have been making 700, these pushrods will never have that kind of specific output without a blower. and the Viper has traction issues as it is. The amazing thing about LSx engines is that they make crazy power to weight ratio when compared to any German/Japanese "high tech" engines. Either way this new Vette is a killer, cant wait to see all the ZR1/LF-A/Spec V/GT3/new NSX comparos in another year or two

well we are talking an $80k car here, not a $400k + one. 100hp per litter NA is hard with a 2 litter 4 banger, not to mention an 8 litter v10.

I wasn't a fan of Vettes whatsoever until my friend gave me ride in his '97 C5. He had a ton of engine work done to it, he was putting down 465whp. But now he's selling the Vette to his Dad so he can buy a '97 Viper GTS. The Viper he wants does 0-60 in 3.9 and 12.2 1/4 mile, and he says that that Viper is a dog compared to his Vette.

I have so much respect for Vettes now, that thing was SICK.

Edit: my friend's C5 is NA... kind of an important detail haha
