Just noticed on the Mazda USA site that the S models' EPAs have been bumped up 1 mpg city/hwy.

Anyone have any idea why? All models seem to have gained a decent amount of weight, so this seems kinda counterintuitive... unless they altered the gear ratios or put tires with lower rolling resistance on stock... or something?

Or what, are they using 0w20 now to get the fleet ratings up? :)

I'm not sure why it changed but the oil is the same, 5w20. I don't thing 0w20 wouldn't increase the gas mileage since the running temp viscosity is the same, 20. Tires are the same ol' RSA's. Gear ratio's might be different, I don't know. One thing for sure though is that the EPA ratings for '08 are going to go down due to new testing standards.
