The is car is still very ugly. I'd take a 3 over the XRS anyday. THe Mz3 has way more torque, and better exterior and interior. At least Toyota is trying. Where is Honda nowadays??

The specs on the engine sound very similar to the 1.8L they've been shipping in the Matrix for a while. I believe that one has 180hp and 137 ft-lb. The Corolla version looks like a slightly detuned version of the same. These engines develop much of their HP at high revs. The 127 ft-lb of torque is no more than many standard 125-130HP 1.8L engines develope.

All in all, the XRS looks like an odd beast. A tall, thin juiced-up econobox with no torque. OTOH, a very reliable, gas miser than can turn a sub-8 second 0-60.
