So i called my dealership and inquired about the 2.3 badging. He said that eventually the 05 hatch's WOULD have the badging, but until then.. ONLY the sedan S models would be coming with the badging.


Not a big deal, but i saw some people wondering earlier. Personally, i think the whole badging thing is stupid and i dont want it on my car.. but different strokes different folks.

I don't care much about the badge but the policy of putting it only on sedans S at that dealer is simply stupid. Either you offer it to all who have the 2.3 or you don't.

That's not the case here.

Welll the dealer is probably talking out of their ass, which is something dealers are very good at.

On one hand, all 5 Doors (in the US) have the 2.3 so anyone "in the know" will know on sight that you have the bigger engine.

Still, I think the dealer is full of it.

Yeah I don't really care if I have it. They are nice badges and all but I think the car looks good enough, and last time I checked 2.3L isn't all that much to brag about, lol. Now 5+ Litres, that's something to talk about.

At my dealer i had to buy mine. There was only one mazda 3 that had the emblems already on it, and it was a hatch. i bought mine for $10 a piece.

i doubt it, since if you don't put them on, you can go around to different dealerships and pick up sets of badges for free just by showing them your no badge 3...at least that's what I think, unless they have some record on who has picked them up

I don't understand the confusion. All the hatches on the Mazda3 site have the badging (see here, and here, and here, and here). They were obviously meant to have the badges put on by the dealers. But, I too will either take them off or not have the dealer install them. Just thought I'd bring up the obvious fact that they "should" be there.

Same here, except my car didn't come with badges but it's no biggie. I'll just bring it up when I go back to get the spoiler put on.

I ordered my car and it is supposed to be built the first week in April. Does this mean I will have the badges on it? I really don't care for the badges. Are they just stuck on or are they sort of rivited on? I'm guessing just stuck on since you can buy them as accesories.

Yeah, they should be just stuck on...and yes i think ur car will come WITH the badges, esp it's still building in the process, not even on the way of shipping...

haha but i was thinking...the 3s that are WITHOUT the badges would look more cool, cuz then would mean they got the 3's while they just came out of the oven!! hehe

the first few ppl who bought the MZ3 ...hehe and im proud to be one of them!!
