I just bought my trackstars last october and the red pin stripe lip is not matching my silver car. so i'm planning on selling it or painting over the red lip. Then wheeldude came out with flat black torques that really caught my attention. i just want to know which brand is more reliable in terms of wheel integrity. is it worth it selling my rims to buy the torques or just paint over the lip. and if any one has 18x8 torques that they want to trade pm me.

I have the Torques and they've held up well. Even after taking some hard hits on potholes.

IMO, I would paint the lip on your Trackstars. If you sell them, you're not going to get all your money back. The money you spend on Torques can be used elsewhere.

I dont mind losing a little bit of money for the torques because they just look really good on the three. The trackstars looks great on black or red cars. I wish i could just shit money and buy the torques.

Same can be said for Trackstars. A couple of local guys have them and they look terrific!

However, go with whatever you like. There are several Torque owners on here and I've not heard anyone complain about them.

If I just paint the lip, do you have any suggestions on an easy way of doing it. The lip is in a groove near the end of the lip. want to do it as easy as possible without too much prep but i want to paint to stay.

this is noah's car

Paint the lip white. Considering the lip is just in a groove, you could probably just get a white paint pen and do it. (Thats obviously the cheap and temporary way of going about it... but hey, see how it holds up)

Cant, or dont want to, do white? I only said white because I saw your car quickly and thought it was white. Go with silver instead. It'll be unique, and tie your cars color into your wheels. The only really like all black wheels on black cars. On every other color it just looks like the wheels are out of place, IMO.

Do you plan on painting just inside the groove? If so, it may be hard to sand and not mess up the sides of the groove that you want to keep black.

Yay, I got mentioned in a thread. Love my trackstars as much as Daniel loves his torques. One of the pluses of having black wheels is that if you curb one you can sharpie over it and fix it.

I'm leaning on selling these or trading for Torques. I didnt want to just paint it immediately because of the possiblity of selling it. If anybody has decent offers or interested in an even trade PM me. These might be up on the Buy/Sell forum by the weekend after I clean it and have pictures taken. And if I dont get good offers then I'll just paint the lip.
