Thanks. I looked at those threads but did not find a definate answer. I was hoping someone was familiar with this wheel size. I'm pretty sure i read somewhere that the rx8 wheels are 18x8 and were fine on 3's with no rubbing but i was sure of the offset.

For housekeeping sake, you could have posted in the "will this fit" thread.

The rims will fit and 225/40/18 is the tire size you need. Depending on your suspension, you may rub slightly in the front and or rear under extreme cornering or fully loaded.

Oh, and RX-8 rims are +50 keeping them further away from the fenders.

Thanks Daniel. Will that offset look odd on the car or will it look good. If RX8 wheels are +50 will these sit further out or more in. I apologize for the questions but I'm not to familiar on how offset works.

My rims are exactly the same fitment, I'm lowered and I run 215/45s with no rubbing. You should also be fine with 225/40s as they are about the same outer diameter; I have enough clearance with mine that I don't think the slightly wider tires would rub either.

Thank you! I've spent a lot of time and way too much money on it. My exhaust came off a MS3 with 5 miles on it so it was practically brand new. I have a welder who put it on for $50. Best bang for the buck.

That happens even with the stock wheels and tires...

^wrong...

danialj is correct...

if ur farther from the fender...ull have less rubbing issues..and height does matter too...as more height gives u more clearance
