Ok guys I have a question:

I just bought a driver's seat from a totaled mazdaspeed3. The frame of the seat is pretty well trashed. Its bent so that its not very usable anymore (hence $15). I have a 2008 mazda3 hatchback and here's my idea. I want to remove the cushioning from the seat currently in my car and replace it with the more bolstered cushioning from the ms3 seat. Any ideas on whether or not this would work? The problem is that I have an airbag to work around. I don't want to mess anything up. Any input is appreciated!!

I wouldn't try it. The frame is also apart of the bolstering.

i dont beleive this and i have taken about many many subaru/nissan seats. its all foam.

one tool you will need is called a hog ring pliers and hog rings. order one from harbor freight. you will have to sway over the seat cover as well.

thanks for the replies!
As far as the seat cover not fitting, I have 2 ms3 seatcovers that came with it, so I could just use them.
I took the ms3 seat apart and it seems like it would be a pretty easy swap.
btw what is the tool that you mentioned used for?
thanks!

hog ring pliers.. standard trim tool to take the hog rings out of the seat .

no, to remove you use a pair of dikes and simply cut them out, do not try to bend the old ones and reuse them......not worth the time. the hog ring pliers are to reinstall new hog rings.

^ pliers and hog rings.

^instructions on how to properly use them.

sears may carry them

So I decided no to do the whole seat conversion. I figured it'd look pretty ghetto to have one mismatched seat haha.
But if anyone needs the airbag for the seat, pm me. Or if you want the oem seat covers let me know.
Thanks anyway for the help!

Oh yeah that's not a bad idea...
and they're from a 2007 sport model - non-leather

even easier......take the foam from the one seat you have to a good upholstery shop and have them make another set identical to the foams you have for the other seat.
