I have been to the Drag Strip with my stock Mazda Protege 1.8L DOHC (122 horsepower, around 100 horsepower to the wheels) with a single sports muffler and I have got 16.293.

You are telling me that the best time you could do is 16.204 with a 160 horsepower Mazda3 ????????????????????

Man! I got to try it! Two months left before the Drag Strip opens...!!!

By the way, the 16.5 on the left is a '03 Mazda Protege 2.0L (ES-GT) with Intake & Exhaust mods... He had 130hp stock + mods, I have 122hp stock + mods.

I know. The Protege weighs 1,230KG, the Mazda3 is 1,530 I guess... That makes 300KG (600lbs?) for 40 more horsepower to the wheels.

And my Protege had only the muffler yes, but I don't think that the muffler will give any "real" gain in that type of Vehicle (except LOUD sound gain).

That would surely mean a +12 to +15 horsepower gain, which could drop your times of another 0.3 to 0.5s, no?

Ahhh I can't wait to get on the strip!

I hate to say that but I got the same 1/4 speed as Mandy, except the fact that I probably got a damn LOT of Wheel Spin !! (89.33mph = 142.93kph) !! With better tires I would have been able to break under 15.5s !!!
