I just ran 5 (0-60) runs timed by both me and my wife (she was shotgun) i averaged her 5 times and got 9.5 seconds! and i averaged mine and got 9.7, i guess cuz i was starting the watch exactly when i pressed the petal, while she had to wait to hear or see me move. this is in a stock 07 automatic hb y'all. anyone else getting that low stock? all i've done is the intake bypass and tb ground. i think mazda says over 15 seconds and i never bothered testing it til tonight. I will videotape this as soon as i can figure out how . to keep the camera steady and not swerve off the street @ the same time.

p.s. i thot this would be really shitty too b/c it is soaking wet here tonight, it has been raining for 3 days, and i had the traction control off.

My best is a 8 flat in my bone stock '07 HB before doing any of the mods in my sig and before I even got used to my car. Mine is a manual though. If I remember correctly Car and Driver got 7.4 when they tested a hatch back in '04.

Why are you impressed with that? That's slow...

i guess i read somewhere that it was high in the 3, before i bought it. well nevermind, i will wait till it's dry and try it again, it sure beats 15 seconds, lol.. 7 or 8 sounds more reasonable now.

yeah, some sites claim manual 7.5 and automatics 8.0. If you were willing to spend 16k+ for a 15 second 0-60 car...

actually, i have never done shit to cars until i got on this site!! never thot i could w/o fuckin shit up. but u guys make it seem so fun and easy, and best of all, the shit i've done is free! and low-risk and i have gotten a lot of satisfaction from it. i can't really afford to race with the big dogs right yet, but it is nice to be able to fiddle around and learn my way around this mazda w/o being so scared to break it. oh, and sorry my numbers are always off, i try not to claim shit is fact unless i can prove it somehow, and i am glad to see my timing is probably accurate, i was using full auto so i could definitely improve my time by at least a second in manumatic!

'Let's talk about those getaways. Equipped with the five-speed manual and the 2.3-liter engine, our tester did the 0-to-60 dash in 7.4 seconds, covered the quarter-mile in 16 seconds flat at 87 mph, and attained 100 mph in 22.8 seconds.'

also, not to be argumentative, but 16k is a good price for just about any new car. Mazda 3 is by far the best option for the buck, i am very satisfied with the car and this forum is tha shit when you're bored and @ home all day!!!

My point was 16k would not be a good price if the car had a 0-60 of 15 seconds.

judging by your sig you have mostly slow down parts and had wife in passenger

If you got rid of the passenger and the box you would be right on target

Get CAI/CBE on the top of your list :) AND every Mazda3 owner should buy a sway bar right after delivery, i remember on my 2004 Mz3 the sway bar and the SS is all i needed to love the ride

my point was: some people actually don't care how fast a car is when they buy it, like my wife, she is actually buying this car, so it had to please her b4 i could get it. U C?

Yeah, the box/speaker/amp/capacitor weighs over 100 lbs i'm sure. The Rear swaybar? where does it go cuz i have not looked, but i did notice that there is not much space for one under the hood

The front one on the top is called a strut bar

In the rear the sway is located near the muffler
If your skinny enough just crawl under your read bumper or lay down next to the bumper and look up
its a long [__________] shape kinda
Easy to do, and worth it
