c_thur's Slow-T-F build

2011 5-dr Mazda3 sSport 2.5L 6-spd MTX

Current setup is:
* 17x7 OEM wheels + 205/50/17 DW (daily, auto-x, track night!)
* 17x7 Sparco wheels + 215/45/17 BF-G Rivals (auto-x)
* Bilstein B6s
* OEM springs
* OEM front bar, OEM endlinks
* JBR .125 Rear bar (soft), JBR billet brackets, speed3 OEM endlinks
* Hawk HPS, square, Goodridge stainless steel lines, 4-yr old Motul RBF 600
* Racing Beat axle-back muffler
* Scroth Ralley 4
* shiny magnets
* 2 boxes of dynamat + amp + components + rally armor (yay +3" width!)
* the exhaust tunnel brace also rusted off thousands of miles ago...illegal lateral brace modification/weight reduction.

The local STF crew is a bit more mellow than H-street, so I'm happy to be there. The regulars are two Mazda2s and a stock 2004ish SVT focus.

Did the Track Night in America at Thompson on May 6th. It was really fun. I even got some point-by's.

If I can find some cheap camber parts, I'm going to give them a shot. Currently the alignment is whatever the tire shop deems "in spec" (and usually involves bringing it back twice to get a trued up steering wheel) corrupted by the thousands of New England potholes.

This way I can send fewer marathon Private Messages.

Attempted to install racing beat springs...couldn't get the rear. Drop sway bar...put jack under control arm, remove bolt with much TLC, lower jack...use BFH? Could not get the arm to drop or get the spring out. Never thought the rear would cause more grief than the front.

Will give it ago again when I do brakes.

Installed racing beat springs. Livelier ride for sure.... Feels a little too low or supple in the back. Will happily be on 225 rubber at the tour! In other news 17x7s for sale...

Can't wait to meet everyone and see how a tour spot works!
Very awesome crew signed up with 1 registration day left. 5/8 in STF are 3's, 2/8 are local Mazda 2's.
Colin needs to go back to a 3.

Im told that he is running his Mazda. Same one Bob is running. (#57 and #157...) I said something to my buddy who knows them about it and he said the cobalt is probably just a joke. Going to be some STIFF competition! Im just looking forward to the experience and it will be my 1st actual event at Devens. Ive done Starting Line School and Evo ph 2 there in my last car, but never an actual event. A few of us plan to come down a couple times this year.

Are there still events up at Brunswick? I should go up there sometime.
I grew up splitting my time between MA (north shore) and ME (bristol/new harbor).

Stiff competition is bad. Devens is lumpy. Bring compliant competition

We did 8 or so events at Brunswick last year, lost it this year due to someone buying the hanger we were in front of. Loved that place! Aside from Loring AFB, all of our local lots are tiny.

If youre up for a drive, come up to Loring AFB in August. 7 or 8 1:30-2:00 min runs...last year was "cant post online" fast in some sections.

How hard is the Tirerack decal to put on? I know I've seen people driving too/from events with them, but I'm guessing it's quite illegal, even if it's above the A line. I was wondering if I could put it on day-of and not feel rushed.
