Does the cat in the header meet the STF requirements with no other cat installed?

Yes it's good. According to the rules if multiple cats (ie: 2 or more) are reduced to just one cat it cannot be more than 6" downstream from the exit of the final OE converter, but you can go upstream all day long and as far as you want.

"Catalytic converters: Any catalytic converters are allowed, but must attach
within 6” (152.4 mm) of the original unit. Multiple catalytic converters
may be replaced by a single unit. The inlet of the single replacement
converter may be located no further downstream than 6” (152.4
mm) along the piping flow path from the original exit of the final OE
converter. The extents of an OE converter are defined by the expansion
chamber in which the catalyst is contained, regardless of placement
within larger exhaust sections. Replacement converters must have a
minimum catalyst density of 100 cells per inch and minimum substrate
length of 3” (76.2 mm)"

sweet. So I assume the reason you have the race cat is because of your header not having one.

Here is my setup in the post below. Along with the stock header.

Certainly looks (and sounds..lol) like there is no cat at first glance and I just want to make sure it qualifies before someone says something.

thanks!

Correct.

Nice job on the build so far. Glad you got rid of those Racelands!

Me too! I knew they were junk, I was just hoping to get through the winter on them. Definitely not the ground controls as it was advertised at the dealer.

What are you guys with hatches doing with all the floor paneling in the cargo area? I had no clue there was that much crap back there until having to pull it apart this past weekend. Aside from the weight, I bet my dog would be much more comfortable in the back with a lower profile cover and may do something to accommodate that as well.

can we legally remove all of the stuff that covers the spare tire?

13.2.F and 13.2.K are fairly open ended rules. The one forward-most portion technically is held in place by 2 Phillips screws, but the rest is not and Id think fall under 13.2.K. Thoughts?

Quote:
.......
13.2.F. Spare tires, tools, and jacks may be removed. Any fastening hardware
and/or other pieces that can no longer be firmly secured in the absence
of the spare tire may be removed if necessary to ensure compliance
with Section 3.3.3.B.1, Safety Inspection Requirements.
.......

13.2.K. Any item that cannot be held permanently in place by factory-installed
fasteners may be removed.
.......

Anything that can be removed without tools comes out of my car for events, including my rear headrests.

I'm actually not sure if that is legal, I've noticed other cars with them still on the seats.

Technically the head rest removal is illegal, if you want to be by the book leave them in.
