You'll be way under that 2900 you quoted. My 2008 weighed 2800 in HS trim at the devens tour last year and it's a 2.3 grand touring with the fancy sound, heated seats, and a sunroof. In STF you can drop about 150 lbs more.

my 2008 weighed in at 2750 with a light battery, exhaust and driver seat. the 2900 lb weight is real.

Driver has to lose about 30 pounds also

Just curious as it is a 2012.. but they said it lightened it with the skyactiv. I did get the absolute base model so no fancy stereo/sunroof. I just couldn't justify getting a sedan for what I used it for daily.

Want to get it on the scales at stock and just start documenting as I take off a bunch of stuff. Been after racingjunk and ebay for a decent used set of scales as I want to corner balance my other car also.

Figure light battery, removal of spare, replace stock seats with buckets. Could drop a bit right there.

Can't wait to finally get her on the course though.

The only weight addition my car has is a hitch. As the car sits its a zero option 2.3L sport. No sunroof. 6lb battery, no spare, 1/4 tank of fuel, 28-29lb seat, stock passenger seat. lightest exhaust I can do and make sound (99.5db to be exact), 42lb wheel and tire combo per corner. I could save another 12-13lb with a lighter passenger seat and another 10-12lb of unsprung weight with lighter 17s. The only way I'll get under 2700 is with 15s. And every test I've done they haven't been faster. But I'll test them again at the pro in Lincoln I think

Mazda must've strapped some lead to the car after 2006. My sunroof 2.3L weighed 2,750 in H-Stock form at Blytheville a few years back.

Planning on weighing it in again at Lincoln next month. I'm betting on right around 2,700 lbs with stock seats and 30 lb battery.

No shit dude. In 07 or 08 they added 150lbs or so. I would bet it's safety stuff. More beef to the doors, different airbag crap, more sound deadening...just needless crap

I honestly wanted a blue 06 because I love the color

Airbags are a decent chunk of it, and my 2008 has them fucking everywhere. There is probably an airbag in the cup holder.

There's Airbags in the seats too, but surprisingly the seats aren't super heavy. My passenger seat weighs about 45 lbs. I expected more.
