Picked up some used TRM C3s a couple weeks ago. Got em on the cheap, most likely due to their unusual color. A little too flashy for me for daily use. Today was the last day I'd have for awhile to do some cosmetic work on them so I got right to it.

The bottom two have been sanded and are ready for paint. Just two more to go.

Everything's ready and wiped down, but the radar said chance of rain. This is the only day I have to do this so makeshift paint booth to the rescue! It did start raining during the process and a couple droplets made it on to the wheels. They turned out slightly less than perfect, but they'll do considering the weather.

Went for a tamer light gold being that the wheels would be on the car all the time. I think it'll go well with the highly pearlescent white.

Also dropped off some brand new rear Bilstein B8s to a local shop to get revalved. One of the perks of living in Nascar country is all the race shops nearby. They should be coming back in about a week. The new rear adjustable spring perches should be arriving around then as well.

Looks like they turned out decent enough. 17x9's, right?

That they are.

Work was closed today due to winter storm Pax. That never happens.

Spent some of my free time researching wheel fitment stuff. Looks like a 5mm spacer on the front is the consensus for coilover clearance. Might try a 15mm to add a little front track. That also looks to fit with -2.5į camber. Hopefully no fender issues.

The shop is finished with the rear shocks. Just need to go pick them up whenever they reopen. Now all that's left is the rear height adjusters and tires and we're set!

Oh yeah. Built a snowman too.

Man, I saw those c3's on Charlotte craigslist... I was really tempted by them myself. Are you going to be running with TSCC any this year? It's always interesting to see how far I am off of your pace... especially considering we'd have similar equipment this year.

I should be able to make it to at least one or two TSCC events this year. They will always be considered my "home club".

Got good news and terrible news.

Lets start with the bad news.

Went to throw all the suspension on the car last Thursday. Got the rear end finished up no problem. Moved on to the front. Got everything off the car and prepared to install the fronts. Got curious and took the coilover apart to see if I could run just the main spring without the helper to aid in wheel clearance. Pulled everything apart and BAM. RF shock shaft is bent. I didn't notice it before because it would still compress and return as normal being that only the top inch or so of the rod was bent.

So the minor damage to the front of the old car must have been a bigger deal than I thought. Back to the drawing board. New plan is for AWR housings but it looks like they just moved shops and won't be able to make them for an undetermined length of time.

GOOD NEWS! The Dacia...eh hem. I mean, my tires have arrived! Just in time for them to be illegal next year!

I've never ran these, so I figured what the heck.

Funny, I just mentioned the AD08R in the tire thread. I was wondering if everyone had forgotten about them. Glad to see you're giving them a shot, and looking forward to hearing your thoughts. I think Hollis might be testing them on his CRX right now as a potential One-Lap tire.

I'll say this, the BC Racing stuff I'm running is a good bang for the buck. Why would they be illegal next year? The 200TW rating is only for the street classes. Not street touring right?
