Re: first time 1/4 mile

If you have a stock 2.0, I think you are shooting a little above your time range to beat the bimmers here. There is a 1/4 mile thread that shows what people are doing stock, mildly modded etc. but times I found quickly online seem to be ~15s. for the bimmers (without knowing year)

That said, good luck! I hope I get a chance to get out the the 1/4 mile here this summer, and do some auto-x as well! Cheers, and remember to post your time!

Re: first time 1/4 mile

- Lighter is better, I do runs with my "E-Light" on the gas. Hell, undo the rear interior (seats, trunk, etc.) while you are at it, it takes about 15 minutes to do and removes about 100lbs.

- For tires, pump the rears up to max to reduce dragging/resistance, and drop the front's pressure very low for more potential sidewall deflection giving better grip. Granted, on street tires it won't make much difference, but every .01 counts in a race.
