Guys that run Hoosiers...

Picked up a new set for this summer's competitions and wondering what pressures to use?

Looks like I was running too high a pressure to start . On my 225/45x16's I started with 40f 38 r

good luck

Re: Guys that run Hoosiers...

I typically run in the low 40's on the front, depending on weather.

On the back I typically run high 40's-low 50's, again, depending on weather.

Higher pressures on Hoosiers tend to increase the performance, but narrow the comfort level. What I mean by this is that the tire will be faster, but finding that grip without exceeding the limits of the tire is a much finer balancing act. Many people are much more comfortable at lower pressures because the tire feels better and communicates better. So they are faster than if they ran at a higher psi, but this does not mean that it is the fastest setup.

Of course, the same thing can be said for shocks and swaybar setups. What is faster for you isn't necessarily the fastest setup.

Re: Guys that run Hoosiers...

I run 45 front and 32-40 in the back depending on surface and conditions. 225/50/16 on stock sized wheels.
