FSDs installed

I spent Saturday getting the new FSDs put on (thanks TH Motorsports for prompt delivery at a good price!) but then it started to rain, so I haven't had much chance to give them a workout. I can say that I am delighted to find that the ride quality is only marginally stiffened. This is a major relief because Mrs. solomaniac has a history of significant lower back issues, and if I reignited her problems she just might smack me up side my melon with the old Silverstone. It also seems that there is noticably less fore and aft pitching on hard acceleration and braking. Any further evaluation will have to wait for dry pavement and also the NWORSCCA season opener on April 29. Hopefully this will make up at least some of my 2 sec. deficit to the fast guys.

Re: FSDs installed

I can share with you that these shocks will make up some of that difference (but not all of it ).

I recently installed some FSD's on my 08 S Hatchback, and find them firmer on the road (but not too firm), but that at
autocrosses a lot of the pitch and yaw is gone. Feels much more planted, like the tires are staying put better (duh),

As I understand these, they monitor and adjust according to the suspension feedback, and kick in significant stiffening
depending on things like velocity, load, and other factors. Good enough for Jack Burns, good enough for me. In fact,
they are probably better than I am........ :P

Re: FSDs installed

Last night I had occasion to drive about 25 miles on one of the few curvy roads in flat-as-a-pancake, mile-grid northwest Ohio. The confident, cemented-to-the-road feel that has come as standard equipment with every VW that I have ever driven is now present. I doubt that any grip has been added, but that which I have (a lot) seems to be more accessable. I'm happy.
