Autocross Brake pads

Anybody using Hawk HP+, Axxis Ultimates, or any other pads with great cold stopping power? Or staying with stock pads?

I'm so cone-fused!

Re: Autocross Brake pads

I'm on my second set of stock pads. They work pretty flipping well and don't warp the rotors as bad or as often as some of the other pads.

The 3 has stellar brakes from the factory. I'm sure other pads work well too, but the stockers are damn good.

Re: Autocross Brake pads

I have EBC greens in back and stock up front. I think I"ll either add greens to the front or go back to stock rears.

This is the first car I've owned with balanced brakes.....we all know how bad the miata was LOL

Re: Autocross Brake pads

Ive been running the HP+ this season and im not sure i like them.
the feel compared to the stock pad sucks
also when hot, they seem to do weird things with ice mode
I ran through the timing lights at the DC pro yesterday and had ZERO brakes, I started pumping like a mad man and had to run off into impound before I was able to stop. This happened to me a few times last year in short stop boxes when I ran the HPS, but not as bad as it was yesterday.

I run dsc and tcs off, so abs is mostly disabled, but still, no brakes in the stop box is not cool and I cant help but think its somehow pad related (or maybe its overboost, but thats a different topic for a different time)

besides that, stopping power is excellent until they get too hot and perhaps bite too hard/fail to provide modulation? (this is all IMO)
