Regarding the generational differences; yeah, I loved my Gen 1 (a 2009 Mazda3 i Touring Value Edition 5-Speed), and I love our Gen 3 (a 2016 Mazda3 s Grand Touring 5-Door 6-Speed manual); the Gen 2 models, regardless of trim left me cold.

Regarding AutoGuide; I'm a moderator on another automotive forum which was taken over by AutoGuide.com several years ago. So far at least, they have been very good to work with; every time I've needed IP address range blocks put in place or other types of filters implemented (E-Mail address blocking and such), they've implemented my suggestions in a very timely manner. I'm wondering if there are different Admin staff assigned to different internet properties, and maybe we just need to push the AutoGuide folks a bit to give us some more support.

Regarding the current sustained spam attack; I'll be happy to assume the responsibility to ban these new accounts as soon as they hit (I pretty much already know their IP address ranges as the same attack hit the other site I moderate), and clear out the trash they've left in their wake. I would be just as happy if someone else did it as well; just so long as it gets done.

Wishful thinking? Given how special the Gen 3 Mazda3 really is, hopefully if we can clean this site up, we can make a case to the Mazda3 driving public at large to use this site as their main resource.

Um, you don't know the definition of the turm ghost town. There were other Mazda forums I was going to try first before coming here but the 3 sections in all of them were basically one post in the last six months. Now that is a ghost tow.

You should've seen this place in its heyday if you don't think it's a ghost town now.

Well gang, I sent a link to this thread to the AutoGuide.com folks and it looks like we're finally getting some traction. Hopefully something will pop in the next few days.
