ShaleZoom3's Project CRUSH!

I have been dying for a hands on project, simply because I have been beating up on the 3 a little to much for a daily driver.

So I was on a mission to find a ground up project to keep me out of trouble and keep me occupied.

$600.00 later....I now have my Project Crush! a 1973 VW Beetle.

Its gonna be a ton of work, but my goal is to have it completed in 4-5 years. Everything will be done by myself and most likely [VU]Juan (since he personally just acquired a Squareback).

Right off the bat, I have to strip the car to weld new floor pans on. But it will have a restomod/cali style. Eventually it will be cruising in a nice Aston Martin /Jaguar british racing green ( i know its a german car).

Re: ShaleZoom3's Project CRUSH!

haha.

Yeah. I sent my Fiancee to go buy it. I was up in VT for some family issues, and asked her to look it over & pick it up. Lets just say she did her best...LOL. She said she checked out the floor. But when I got home and was able to look it over....lets just say the only thing keeping Barney and Fred from driving that car was a piece of fiber board...haha

But I asked for a long project..lol....and thats what I got.

Yeah I already purchased some stuff off of JBugs. And there is a local Vdub shop that has most of the body panels I will need.

I got a couple pictures of it being taken apart....I will post them up soon.

Re: ShaleZoom3's Project CRUSH!

The pictures really do the car no justice. It almost seems overwhelming by looking at the pictures but once you get really look around in person it's not too bad. Just gotta take it one step at a time and take your time with it.

I look forward to working on this thing. I haven't had much time to work on it since I started a new job and I'm buying a house, all within the same month... can't wait until I move in and have some time to work on this thing with Stephen...
