bossboy's Project - MAZDASPEED3 Two Tone black/blue --- new pics pg2 & 3

Day1

Ok, car is going in for some paint. Reason: Damage done via portable car shelter. Insurance estimated 2600 dollars worth of damage. They had quoted for almost every panel to be repainted. So I took this opportunity and paid a bit more to have the car two-toned! After lots of photoshops and thinking, this is what happened.....Enjoy the timeline! It was not finished in 10 days. Each day is just a day I went in and took pictures. I think it took over a month for this to be completed! Holidays threw a wrench into the timeline, but I told the shop to take their time.

Kudos to Travis @ Overall for the custom work!
Kudos to Randall for the initial photoshops
Kudos to Andrew(primalorb) for the final photoshops
Kudos to everyone else who put in their thoughts and ideas and kept their mouths shut so I could keep this as a surprise for when it is complete!
Kudos to Mark (owner of Overall) for giving me an awesome deal!

THIS IS THE PHOTOSHOPPED IMAGE of what we went with......lets see how it turns out! And yes, we photoshopped someone else's car....LOL Those are not my rims or my actual car

Car is being stripped! OMG NAKED!

Day6

Blue paint is laid, and clear coat on top!
They took images of the blue without clear, but I decided not to upload those. They just look matte, and you can see what it looks like matte when they wet sand later.

This was a very exciting day because it was so shiny in the paint booth!!! Looked fucking sick!
Talk about being giddy!!!

Re: bossboy's Project - MAZDASPEED3 Two Tone

Day7

Here it is being wetsanded
Reason is to smooth out the clear coat. Also, this step allows the paint line to be smoothed out. If you run your hand from blue to black to blue or whatever, you will NOT feel a ridge or paint line. This was important to me as I don't like the idea of the paint being two levels (even though it is). But you won't be able to feel it. This will also make detailing a lot easier in the future

OMG it looks ugly again! LOL

Day8

After wet sanding the car, they had to buff it. Here it is after it is buffed. Quite dusty due to all the dust flying around!

Re: bossboy's Project - MAZDASPEED3 Two Tone

Day9

OMG CAR IS IN ONE PIECE!
I kept telling overall to take their time throughout this whole process (they cut me a deal afterall)
But eventually I got impatient! It was pushed back quite a bit! But oh well! The end result pleases me and that is all that matters!!!!!

Car is all together. NOTE: the mazdaspeed3 badge was not supposed to be put back on, and they are removing it.
Car is dusty, they mentioned washing it and putting a layer of glaze over it which is good.
Also the eyelids are not attached. I told them to paint them and I will attach them myself (hopefully with better luck this time!)

FINALLY DUN DUN DUN!!!!!
Some of these images are from my camera, and some from a spare camera that Andrew(Primalorb) was using.

Re: bossboy's Project - MAZDASPEED3 Two Tone

Day10 - Final car pictures when it comes out of the shop.

Unfortunatly there is a lot of snow and salt on the ground.
Car will wait until there is not so much salt/snow, then be driven to the storage facility where it will sit until spring!
