HID conversion should I do it?

Hi
I am thinking of doing an HID conversion on my low berms and my fog lights.
Is it safe on the OEM components?
What should I look for in a good quality conversion kit?
Recommendations on kits and parts?

Good quality HID Kit...I Highly recommend the Morimoto HID Kit in the 5500k color from www.retrofitsource.com

I wouldnt put HIDs in foglights....but people do it....

Might have to Re-Aim the lights after installing a HID Kit too.

Exactly as Ultimica said. The Morimoto HID kit is the best of the best. I've got it on my 3 and it's so far superior to the factory halogens. Definitely recommend this set.

on my 07 i ran hids in the lows, fogs, and high beams. the low beam projectors suck balls and i really recommend upgrading projectors because really all you are doing is throwing an hid bulb into a halogen projector. retrofits are very easy, but there's not a terrible consequence for doing so if you are on a budget.. there is also nothing wrong with putting them in your fogs, just dont use 55w kits and stay with the 35w kits

I have seen a few different recommendations, I own a 2012 mazda 3 hatchback with the highbeems on the i side. Do i need to run a direct connection to the battery? What are the pros and cons of this setup?
Do I need a CANBUS ballast?
I have heard that an HID conversion is hard on electrical components. Is there any merit to this and if so please explain. Thanks again.

There is a forum for HID stuff called HID planet the folks on there said even though i have projector housings they are for Halogen bulbs snd differ slightly from true HID projector housings. It was suggested that do a retrofit of my stock housing and put a HID reflector etc.. iit involves using an oven to open my existing headlight housing. The Retrofit Source has kits for this.
Has anyone on this site done this?

Is there a HID 2012 Mazda 3 headlight that did NOT utilize the steering column that i can use instead of taking apart my stock headlight?
