Which LED for headlights and fog lights 2012?

Hi all;

Just trade my old 2004 3s HB for a 2012 3s HB and missing my HID headlights... so I'm planning to install LEDs for high/low/fog beans but there is a multitude of types and wattage and I'm lost needing some info.

Which ones are the brighter and whiter ones? Are they inside Mazda specs (current draw). Where to buy (Amazon, Ebay or other site)? Are they easy to replace or require a lot of disassembly?

Thank you for the help

Cheers

I wouldn't install LEDs. The optics of your headlight are designed specifically for a halogen bulb. An LED (or HID) bulb gives a different distribution of light than a halogen bulb. Using anything other than halogen bulbs in halogen headlights would make them illegal, unsafe, and less effective.

Edit: here is a thread where someone tested an LED replacement for a halogen bulb on what looks to be a newer Mazda 5. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/...-LL-H11-100-H9

Thanks for the heads up. Any suggestions of a good, strong and white halogen lamp? The whiter the better....

I would get something from a reputable company like Philips, Osram, GE, etc. They all make bulbs that are brighter at the expense of lifespan. I've heard a lot of good things about Osram 65W bulbs but haven't used them myself. Sylvania Silverstars are one example of a whiter bulb, because they have a little bit of blue filter on the bulb surface. Unfortunately, this filter reduces the total amount of light that makes it to the road.

All of these bulbs would be a small upgrade over stock, but won't be near that of HID performance. If you want HIDs, the only legal solution is to get the OEM parts.

Yeah, I miss my 2004's hids... but won't go this way. Will try one of the Syvanias or Philips. Are the low and hi beam lamps the same part #?

Thanks for the reply. Cheers

Bulb information should be in your owner's manual or at this link: http://www.sylvania.com/en-us/applic...s/lrgmain.aspx

Anyone with carxenonhidkits installed?

If yes can you give me a review regarding the light, durability, ease of installation and any problems found during installation and after?
