Another hid question

So I have a 2011 mazda3 s grand touring and it has those headlights that turn with the steering wheel. I want to put hid lamps in but do I have to buy a special kind? Will it mess anything up?

Edit:

If your headlights have the AFS system they are xenon projectors.

Do your headlights look like this?

If so you have the Bi-xenon projectors:

You could make them better by adding a clear lens and or get some CBI bulbs from http://www.theretrofitsource.com

Ask on http://www.hidplanet.com

If you need help with the process

Thanks so I don't need a typical hid kit with the ballasts? I can just replace the bulbs? It shouldn't affect the normal operation right? And yes my lights look like those

Your already has HID system.

Unless you looking to change light color, what you have is pretty much best trustful OEM HID system you get in this price range vehicle. You have ballast, you have D2S HID bulb with AFS

There are some color choices for D2S bulb. As above post said, CBI is one of choice while keeping strong light output.

Yeah the best thing you could do without opening your headlights is get these bulbs

http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...ducts_id=10591

@upashi is right you have HID projectors and they are very good, the same one that are inside the Lexus RX350.

for white light, its best to go with 5000k bulbs. OEM is 4300k.

6000k will give you a slight blue light and 8000 is really blue

anything over 5000k will give you more color but will reduce your light output dramatically.

4300k is good for wet nights as it provides good light output. 5000k is pretty good too, but not as good as 4300k in the wet dark.. 8000k and above, you can forget about having headlights in the wet dark

No problem, if you get those bulbs you won't be sorry.

They give the white look (5000k) with the nearly the same lumen output as 4300k bulbs. Which is the best of both worlds.
