The dealers will not ship them overseas or really even outside the EU due to their contracts with Mazda that apparently forbid it.

Shipping has really gotten screwed up off eBay too, due to what I can only assume are EU rules or US import regulations - I used to buy so many parts for other cars off eBay Germany and just pay for shipping to the US.

After much research I have a couple rear fog (LHD) units heading to the U.S. right now. Will see if they actually show up and see if we can get a realistic group buy going.
You said you got a couple coming here stateside? If you have an extra in said batch that actually does arrive, let me know. I'm VERY interested in paying for it. Otherwise I'm very sure a group buy will be very successful.

I'm stationed here in England so I can go to dealerships and try to order the part in person. The only problem will be that the rear fog lamp will be for the passenger side of the vehicle, which is the driver side here in the UK.

Or if anyone can find a online site that ships from the UK that would also work. I tried some searching of my own on amazon.co.uk and ebay.co.uk but couldn't really get an reliable results.

The English dealers have the RHD fog lights, which are "technically" wrong for US cars, if you care. Officially, the rear fog light should be on the same side of the car as the driver. The UK dealers will only ship within the EU.

Ebay.co.uk, ebay.it, ebay.de and ebay.pt have the rear fogs off wrecked cars but no one will ship them.

I have 2nd gen ones for LHD drive cars coming (hopefully). If successful in getting here I will try to put a group buy together. Of course, that is just for the "unit" - wiring it up is another project.

See if you can go to the Mazda dealership and ask if they can order a specific part by a part number I have listed in this thread. I found the part number, but the US dealerships aren't able to find it in their parts database.

Yeah, as a last resort I'll get the fog on the passenger side as required for MOT in the UK. I'd like it for the driver's side to make it "correct" and wire it in to a switch.

Hi guys:
Did not disappear, but had to run out of town for work while these things were stuck in NY customs for way too long. I should have them this week - and assuming I bought the right part and it fits the car, I will probably list the other couple here or on eBay. If there is enough interest I can get more, so we can probably put together some sort of group by -- either new or used!

Will report back with some photos - cross your fingers USPS didn't take their usual BS out on the packaging.

If anyone just wants to have a rear fog for functionality then you can use a RED bulb or RED LED bulb and wire it to a switch. You'll only have one reverse light as a result though.

If you want the actual red housing to look different than everyone else...well, you might have a harder time

if you put a red bulb, it will not be as bright as a real rear fog. the rear fog has red reflector inside and uses a regular bulb.
