New guy on the block and a few quick questions about HIDs.

Hello everyone, I've been a long time lurker on these forums, and I figured it was finally time to make a post.

I recently managed to set aside a bit of spending money for my Mazda 3, and thought I would double check my decision with you fellows here.

I have a 2010 Mazda 3 4-door and I have been planning on getting some HIDs for awhile. I am only planning on putting HIDs in my lows, as I live in a suburban area; so I figured 35w is best for me since I wish to be considerate and not blind other drivers. I am planning on tweaking the squirrel finders just a little bit so that it reduces the light cast up from my stock projectors.

My questions are:
1: I need H11 bulbs for my lows, correct?

2: Any recommendations for 5000k bulbs?
I have about $75 to spend on my setup which I know puts me out of the range of premium kits. But I also do not want to have to deal with long waits should I need to warranty part of the kit.

I'm not sure about bulb size, but you can get a new set of DDM slim ballasts with bulbs for like $40 shipped from the vendors here that carry them.

^this

and yes, H11 is our low beams. I have DDM slims at 5000k and LOVE them. You will be very happy with this setup

H11 is low beams.. I have DDM Raptors and one has already failed.. I'd suggest just saving up for a premium kit. I regret not getting a premium kit haha There are lots of people who have DDM's without a problem so I got one from them but yea... I'm trying to get TRS Morimoto Elite HID kit or even their Retro-Quik kit which would replace the projector and give me bi-xenon feature.

While we're on the topic of HID, are DDM Raptors (Apexcone) ballasts digital? I know the DDM slim ones are digital..

Sounds like DDM it is. Now the question is, which of the vendors is the easiest to deal with RMA wise should I happen to get a defective unit? I hear it can take awhile when you deal with DDM directly. I don't mind paying a few extra $ to get the peace of mind of fast warranty service.

Check out Xenonexpert. They're a sponsor of the forum and I think they do price matching. Not sure what their warranty return policy is, but if you buy directly from DDM, you pay the shipping to get the defective unit to them. Also, DDM ships from china so it will take a week or so to get.
