TRS Clear Lens for 2nd Gens

Not sure if this has been discussed around here before, but I expressed interest in getting a clear lens from TRS for my projector headlights.

My initial inquiry to them:

I was wondering if you have a clear lens that will work with the second generation (2010+) Mazda 3's. I am a member of the, and I have read great reviews of your product for first generation 3's. Is your lens for first gen compatible with second gen 3's, or do you offer a separate product? Thanks for the information!

Their response:

Hi Brandon,

Thanks for your inquiry - unfortunately we dont have a clear lens for the halogen version of the Mazda 3 projector on the 2nd gen body style - however we do have a complete "retro-quik" kit which bolts on our clear lens bi-xenon Morimoto projector system that's available for your car. You can see the details on that here:

A review of it for a Subaru app here:

And some output shots from customers using these projectors here:

The kit is designed to just bolt on inside the housings with very minimal work, including the brackets that adapt the projectors in place of your stock ones.

If you have any other technical or parts related questions, or if you'd like some personalized assistance placing an order- let me know and we'll be glad to help. You can simply reply to this email, or give us a call at 614-653-3451 with your parts list and we'll take care of everything for you.

Thanks again,
Matt @ TRS

My follow-up in regards to future production:

Thanks Matt. Do you guys plan to produce a clear lens for the 2nd gen Mazda 3's? If so, how long do you think it'll be before that product will be available? I already have a HID kit waiting to go in when I do my big headlight overhaul project (baking open the headlights, painting parts, installing HIDs, replacing projector lens, etc). I was hoping you guys had a lens available, but it seems I might have to look elsewhere. Thanks for the information!

Their response:

Sorry to keep you waiting over the weekend. Currently a clear lens upgrade for the new Mazda 3 is not in the works, so we dont have any plans to release something soon.

If you do have an HID kit already, you could get a partial retro-quik system, so can use your HID ballasts, wiring, etc with the new clear lens bixenons. Maybe an option for you?

Let me know, thanks Branden!

Matt @ TRS

Basically, it's not looking good for us. If anyone has any other brands that they would recommend, feel free to share.
